Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card
The Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier is the mid-tier card in Chase's Southwest lineup, and the case for it is built less on its earning rates than on the perks that come with carrying it. The 3x on Southwest and 2x on grocery and dining (capped at the first $8,000 a year combined) are modest, so the value really lives in the 6,000 anniversary points, the free first checked bag for you and up to eight people on your reservation, and the 10,000 Companion Pass qualifying points each year. The catch is that almost all of that only pays off if you fly Southwest regularly, so this is a card for loyalists rather than a flexible travel earner.
