Terms

The fine print, in plain English.

The plain-English summary sits on top, followed by the legal language a credit-card comparison site needs to carry. Reading this counts as agreeing to it.

What ccdeck is

ccdeck is an editorial site that compares US credit cards. The content is provided for educational purposes only. Nothing on the site is a recommendation specific to your situation, and nothing on it is an offer to enter a contract with anyone.

By using ccdeck.com, any subdomain, any RSS or data feed it publishes, or any product or service we operate under the ccdeck name (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

Who can use ccdeck

You must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. resident to use the Services. Most credit cards reviewed on ccdeck are legally available only to U.S. adults with a valid Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number; the information on ccdeck is provided with that audience in mind. If you're under 18 or outside the U.S., do not use the Services for credit decisions.

Not financial, tax, or legal advice

ccdeck is not a financial advisor, a credit counselor, a tax professional, a licensed lender, or a registered investment advisor. Nothing on this site should be treated as financial, tax, or legal advice. Decisions about applying for, using, or paying off a credit card affect your credit profile and your money in ways we can't see from here.

So before you act on anything you read on ccdeck, confirm the card terms directly with the issuer, and where it matters, consult a qualified professional who knows your specific situation.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on ccdeck, including "Apply" buttons on card pages, are affiliate links. When you click one and get approved for a card, the issuer or an affiliate network pays ccdeck a referral fee. That fee is how the site is funded. It doesn't change what you pay; the application terms are identical to applying through any other channel.

Affiliate revenue doesn't influence rankings or recommendations. If a card without an affiliate program is the right answer for a given situation, we say so and link to the issuer's own application page. See the methodology page for the long version.

Accuracy and freshness

We re-read every cited source page daily, so the numbers track what the issuer currently publishes. Even so, card terms can change between our last check and your read, which means the figure on the issuer's own application page is the one that governs what you will actually be charged. If you spot a discrepancy, email support@ccdeck.com and we'll correct it.

Approval credit scores, "typical" / "sweet spot" points valuations, and any "best for X" rankings are estimates synthesized from publicly reported data. They are not promises that any specific person will be approved, or that any specific redemption will land at a particular value.

Use of the site

You may read ccdeck, link to specific pages, and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may NOT:

  • Scrape the site at volume (above a few requests per minute) without written permission.
  • Republish full pages or substantial portions of pages, on any platform, without written permission.
  • Use any part of the content, the data files, or the images to train, fine-tune, or condition a machine-learning model.
  • Frame, embed, or mirror the site in a way that disguises ccdeck as the source.
  • Submit anything to ccdeck (including email content) that infringes someone else's rights or violates the law.

"As is" and "as available"

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. CCDECK AND ITS OPERATORS DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT.

We don't warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, timely, secure, or that any information will be current or correct. Your sole and exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with the Services is to stop using them.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CCDECK AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRACTORS, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF WE'VE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT WILL CCDECK'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US $100). This cap applies regardless of the legal theory and regardless of the number of incidents.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations of liability; in those places the limitations above apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ccdeck and its operators, contractors, and partners from and against any third-party claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Services or any decision you made based on them.
  • Your violation of these terms.
  • Your violation of any law, third-party right, or contract you have with anyone else.
  • Any content you submit to ccdeck.

Third parties

Card issuers, affiliate networks, advertisers, analytics providers, and any other third party linked from or integrated into ccdeck operate on their own terms and privacy policies. We don't control, maintain, or endorse them, and we're not responsible or liable for what they do, what they charge, the accuracy of their content, or how they handle your data once you click off ccdeck.

Your interactions and business dealings with those third parties, including any application, purchase, dispute, or chargeback, are solely between you and that third party. ccdeck is not a party to those transactions and isn't liable for any loss or damage that results from them.

Submissions

If you send ccdeck a tip, a card correction, a screenshot, a suggestion, a feature request, or any other content (each a "Submission"), you grant ccdeck a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, copy, modify, publish, and distribute that Submission for any purpose, including to fix card data, write editorial commentary, or improve the Services. You confirm you have the right to share what you send and that doing so doesn't violate anyone else's rights. Don't send confidential information you don't want us to have a license over.

Electronic communications

Communications between you and ccdeck are electronic. When you use the Services or email support@ccdeck.com, you consent to receive communications from us electronically. Any notice, agreement, disclosure, or other communication we send to you electronically (including via email or by posting to the Services) satisfies any legal requirement that it be in writing.

Intellectual property and DMCA

The ccdeck name, logo, layout, written content, and data compilations are ours. Card art, issuer logos, and program names belong to their respective owners and appear on ccdeck under fair use for editorial comparison purposes.

If you believe content on ccdeck infringes your copyright, send a written notice to support@ccdeck.com with: (1) a description of the copyrighted work, (2) the URL where the infringing material appears, (3) your contact information, (4) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf, and (5) your physical or electronic signature. We follow DMCA takedown procedures and will respond to valid notices.

Dispute resolution and arbitration

Read this section carefully. It limits how you can bring a dispute against ccdeck and waives your right to a jury trial and class action.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these terms or the Services will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in the federal judicial district where the ccdeck operator resides, or by remote/video proceedings if both sides agree. The arbitrator will issue a written award.

YOU AND CCDECK AGREE TO BRING ANY CLAIM IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY ONLY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding.

Exceptions: either side may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies; either side may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights. Nothing in this section prevents you from contacting a government agency about a complaint.

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@ccdeck.com with "Arbitration opt-out" in the subject line within 30 days of your first use of the Services. The opt-out applies only to you and only to disputes arising after the opt-out is received.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the arbitration section above, any court action must be filed in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, for any reason or no reason, including for any violation of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, governing law) will survive.

Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be interpreted to give effect to its intent to the maximum extent allowed by law. These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and ccdeck regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreement on the same subject.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the site grows. The "Last updated" date above is the date of the most recent change. Material changes will also be posted to /updates. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated terms.

ccdeck isn't a law firm. These terms are written in plain English on purpose, so you can actually read them. They follow standard practice for an affiliate-funded editorial site, and they were not drafted by an attorney for your specific transaction. If you need a contract for a specific business interaction, get one from someone qualified.
