Discover it Miles

The it Miles is Discover's answer to a flat-rate travel card: 1.5x Miles on every purchase, no categories to track and no cap to watch. Each Mile is worth a fixed penny, redeemable as a statement credit against travel purchases or as straight cash, so the rate behaves like 1.5% back rather than a points currency that needs a transfer partner to pay off. The Mile-for-Mile match in year one doubles that to an effective 3% on everything you buy, which is the best reason to open this card now rather than later; after year one it competes with flat 2% cash back cards and loses on the math unless you specifically want the travel-credit redemption.
