Sam's Club Mastercard

The Sam's Club Mastercard earns 5% back in Sam's Cash on gas and EV charging on the first $6,000 each calendar year, 3% at restaurants, and 3% at Sam's Club for Plus members, with no annual fee beyond the Sam's Club membership the card requires. The catch is the redemption loop: rewards load onto the membership as Sam's Cash, spend only at Sam's Club or SamsClub.com, and stop accruing at $5,000 a year, so the value depends on shopping there anyway. For a household that already carries a Plus membership and fuels up regularly, the gas rate is one of the strongest published on a no-fee card, though Club-level members earn just 1% in the warehouse.
